Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Director of Experiential Learning is a key member of the team responsible for the execution of the Simon School's Strategic Plan to bring corporate and private experiences into the curriculum through experiential learning. This is accomplished through International Immersion Classes, Project-Based Curriculums, effective Case Competition support, and directed EDGE Leadership learning. The Director will develop and implement goals, desired outcomes and baseline metrics to support these initiatives, including interaction with initiatives and clubs, leading to an increase in student satisfaction, a broadened skill set in leadership, and opened global awareness and integrity.

Responsibilities:

Case Competition Preparation and Administration

Deliver and evolve a comprehensive case competition preparation program for student teams participating in internal and external case competitions.

Promote the further expansion of case competitions in which the Simon Business School students participate.

Act as mentor and Coach for teams who are participating in external case competitions, including feedback sessions before the case competitions and attending external case competitions.

Launch a process where the Simon School would host a case competition where other schools would be invited to attend and participate.

Project Sourcing and Project Management

Source projects for experiential learning coursework, in classes with a project component, working closely with Professors to determine the fit of projects, the quantity needed and the teams assigned to each project

Manage Advisors for projects where appropriate and provide guidance on meetings, goal setting and review of work.

Enhance the use· of project management software to allow for better tracking of milestones, deadlines and submissions, increasing communication and creating an easier year over year transitions and archiving of past projects.

Develop a process where students could engage with companies needing short-term (4 weeks or less) consulting assistance for compensation. Source short-term projects and develop methodologies for the management of these short term projects and act as Manager of these projects.

EDGE Leadership Learning Initiatives

Supports student experiential opportunities, including proposing, scheduling and sourcing coursework to fulfill the training associated with EDGE programming.

Develop new processes, training and recordkeeping for training days, case competitions and other new initiatives. Creates documentation to support new processes, and assists with student communications and coordination with other organizations.

Acts as Club Advisor for student clubs helping them with strategic thought, current and future planning and strategic direction.

Office of Student Engagement Team Member

As an effective member of the Office of Student Engagement team, promotes our vision and values and creating a positive student experience.

Provides front line support in answering student questions and elevates issue to the Director and other appropriate contacts.

Provides logistical support as needed to the Executive Director, assisting with communications and event planning and execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with major course work in social or technical field, and Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science or related field desirable, and 4-5 years experience in the analysis and dissemination of information plus supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

10 years of experience in higher education

MBA

Experience in project management, student support and faculty support
