Senior Library Technical Assistant
Serves in a courteous, tactful manner as a liaison between faculty, staff and students for the Borrowing and Document Delivery Services of Library materials. Performs advanced bibliographic searching with sophisticated reference sources. Maintains extensive knowledge of Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services (
) policies and procedures nationwide. Acquires and maintains a high degree of proficiency in searching
software and hardware. Delivery books throughout
campus using a bicycle and interact/promote the library to faculty. Manages the
web pages and presence across the
Libraries website. Write blogs regarding
Faculty, Staff, Students and other libraries for returnables and
non-returnable materials. Examines incoming requests for completeness, correcting citations and
communicating when necessary with the patron/other libraries. Verifies questionable citations. Searches and fills
owned materials for Document Delivery Requests and Lending requests. Sends requests using numerous software applications. Maintains performance standard (goal) set by the
unit to strive to process requests within 4 hours of receipt. Consults with the
Librarian on questionable items.
Delivery materials to Faculty offices throughout the main campus; promoting library services
Answers and responds to telephone calls, walk-in patrons, text messages and emails.
Serves as Web Editor for department, responsible for managing
/DDS’s presence across the website and writing blogs
Performs other duties as assigned
A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.

Library, computer skills and/or public service experience; ability to work well with others; have excellent communication skills; flexibility; team skills.
