Librarian The purpose of the Librarian is to enrich, inform and assist students and instructors in their pursuit of academic, professional and personal goals. Resources include tangible as well as electronic tools, and instruction is provided to assist patrons in utilizing them to their fullest potential. Essential Functions: \u00b7Oversee the Learning Resource Center \u00b7Maintain inventory of all materials such as: \u00a7Texts and periodicals \u00a7Research journals and databases \u00a7Reference works \u00a7Multi-media and\/or electronic resources \u00b7Maintain Records for circulation of books \u00b7Introduce new students to the library. \u00b7Aid in acquisition of materials for the library. \u00b7Prepare and maintain budget for the library. \u00b7Meet with teachers to encourage library usage \u00b7Attend department and full staff meetings. \u00b7Maintain web based materials. \u00b7Manage textbook check out. \u00b7Train staff. \u00b7Enforce university regulations\/policies. \u00b7Maintain library hours. \u00b7Report preparation: Usage logs and budgets. \u00b7Teach classes in library research \u00b7Must be able to lift 15 lbs. \u00b7Other related duties. Qualifications: \u00b7Master\u2019s degree in Library and Information Science required. \u00b7Excellent communication and organizational skills. Measures of Merit: \u00b7TBD by supervisor within 90 days of hire.
