The successful candidate will have experience building Tableau (or comparable BI tool) solutions from the ground up that are visually stunning, scalable, and very fast. In-depth knowledge of SQL and the ability to build and manage datasets is critical. Architectural understanding is also important, and the ability to present and defend an architectural design in Tableau is required. Best practices regarding organizing folders, laying out security groups, and designing for scalability and performance are expected.
Duties and responsibilities:Work closely with our business teams to understand business reporting, statistics and analytic requirementsAct as a liaison to business teams to support development of advanced analytic solutions that leverage the data warehouse for informationDesign, develop, and implement visualizations for our business teams following effective design principles to support ongoing business analysis and operationsCollaborate in the planning, design, development, test, and deployment of new BI solutionsProvide production support for new and existing BI solutions; resolve issues with reports and data as identified by users.\r
Requirements:1-3 years of experience with Tableau and the ability to teach other Tableau developers is essentialSQL experience, including the ability to troubleshoot queries and tune queries for performanceExperience building business reporting solutions from the ground upBachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science, mathematics or related fieldTraining in visualization science preferredBusiness experience, including working directly with business users as an analyst
Working conditions:Over 90% of the time is spent indoors, with protection from weather conditions. Exposure to noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable is present in only unusual situations.Physical requirements:Sitting, talking, hearing and near vision are required over 90% of the time, while walking is required about 10% of the time. The sense of touch is required 90% of the time and reaching is required about 50% of the time. Bending, twisting, and climbing are required, as is far vision, but only for 10% or less of the time.
