The Gill Library at The College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY is seeking a service oriented individual to fill the position of Adjunct Learning Commons Librarian, to work part time (18 hours/week) at our Rosa Parks and Brooklyn campuses (2 days at each campus). This FIPSE grant funded position is available immediately and expires on September 30, 2019. Reporting to the Library Learning Commons Coordinator, the candidate will work closely with Learning Commons and Library Staff.

The Adjunct Learning Commons Librarian works to provide direct public service and student assistance in the Learning Commons, including policy explanations. S/he must be well versed in all computer applications used in the Library Learning Commons, and troubleshoots problems encountered by Library users. S/he supports the Librarians and provides assistance to all users.

Responsibilities include:

Reference Services (in person including assistance with all print and electronic resources and services as well as virtual reference using AskUs 24/7)

Library Instruction sessions and Workshops as needed

In the absence of other administrators or full-time librarians, the Adjunct Learning Commons Librarian is responsible for the overall supervision of the Library Learning Commons operations including supervision of staff and student assistants.

Collaborate with Librarians to promote library resources and services to students

Other duties as assigned related to the support of student academic success

The Adjunct Reference Librarian will consistently demonstrate:

Reliability when performing assigned tasks

Requirements: An ALA-accredited Masters in Library Science. Academic library experience preferred. The position may include evening and weekend hours and is available immediately.
