The Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Institutions, is currently recruiting for\u00a0a Librarian at Fox Lake Correctional Institution, located in Dodge County. Position Summary: The Librarian directs the provision of library and related services to inmates and staff of this 1000 adult male medium security institution.This position manages the library operation which includes a general library, a legal collection and a satellite legal collection within the institution segregation unit.The Librarian\u2019s major responsibilities are the management of the library, providing training and directions for inmate library workers, and maintenance of the automated circulation system.Other areas of responsibility include collection development, provision of reference services, accessing and managing CD-ROM information systems for inmates and staff, making purchase recommendations, grant development and administration, Library orientation, inter-library loan service, and supervision of a photocopy service. Special Notes: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which required a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment. Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have experience, education, and\/or training in the following: Performing library duties (maintaining library collection, classifying and cataloging library materials, etc.) Utilizing computer technology and programs (using computers, printers, etc. and programs such as Microsoft Office Suite) Providing information (regarding policies, reference\/resource material, etc.) to employees or customers
