Description Summary The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking an Assistant manager of Library Services who will be responsible for providing strategic management appropriate to the community needs and public library services. Under the direction of the Library Manager, work includes assisting with the preparation and management of the divisionu2019s annual budget and forecasting of department revenues and expenses, and oversight of grants. As such, this employee manages two employees who supervise all other employees in the Library to include contractors and volunteers. Work is performed with considerable independence, discretion and initiative under the broad direction of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and Quality of Life & Cultural Services Department policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with library catalog by adding and updating item records, classifying and adding holdings. Assist Childrenu2019s Services with conducting programs for children when needed. Conduct library tours and assists at community events. Provide customer service-related tasks including searching print and electronic database resources to meet patronsu2019 informational needs, assistance with patron computer usage. Check-out at the circulation desk, collecting fines, creating new patron cards, clerical, administrative, and other duties as assigned. Will be required to give informal and formal computer instruction. Supports marketing of programs, which may include using desktop productivity software in order to create designs for posters, newsletters, invitations, scrapbooks, crafts, photography, and adding content to a website. Will assist with recruitment and supervision of volunteers, selection and deselection of materials, shelving, decorating bulletin boards, updating display cases, mending books and other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and/or Experience Masteru2019s degree in Library Sciences from an accredited University and by the American Library Association. Plus four (4) years of progressively responsible upper management level experience in a related field. The selected candidate must also have experience in a related field. Must have excellent communication and organizational skill and be able to obtain and maintain CEUu2019s and any other certifications required for Library Science Processionals. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A valid Class C driveru2019s license with a clean driving record is required for this position. Driving is a requirement for this position.
