Assistant/Associate Professor, Scholarly Services Librarian. The Oklahoma State University Library is recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as the Scholarly Services Librarian. This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position which reports to the Head of the Academic Library Liaison Group within the Research and Learning Services Division. Initial appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor rank depending on experience and qualifications. We seek an individual who is creative and has a passion for learning and teaching and is eager to drive her/his own projects, to innovate, and to take on challenges. Library faculty are actively engaged in the OSU academic research lifecycle and encouraged to develop collaborations with other faculty, researchers, students, and/or members of the community.

As Assistant/Associate Professor, Scholarly Services Librarian, you will:

Provide leadership and vision to create advocacy programs that encourage OSU faculty and graduate students to adopt open access research and publishing practices

Develop partnerships with internal and external constituents to advance scholarly services and initiatives such as advocating for author rights, developing a model for copyright support, raising awareness about open access best practices including depositing works into the institutional repository, and managing scholarly impact

Evaluate the potential for and guide implementation of technological tools and solutions for digital scholarship and scholarly communication

Actively participate in this arena at state, national, and international levels

Undertake academic department liaison responsibilities consistent with your knowledge and experience and the needs of the library

Required Qualifications

An ALA accredited Master’s or a Master’s in a related discipline such as Education Technology, Journalism

Previous experience with research and instruction

Knowledge with the creation, publication, dissemination and discovery of scholarly research tools, methods, and programming

Commitment to working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the library

Ability to assess new technology and use it to improve library services
