The Account Manager is responsible for establishing and growing strategic relationships with customers to ensure client satisfaction, that customer needs are being met, and assisting the client in improving and expanding the use of and value received from Innovative products and services.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential Functions:



  • Establishes and maintains business relationships with appropriate level personnel.

  • Manages an assigned set of existing customer accounts, including developing and managing the business relationship with those accounts. Responsibilities include:

    • Creating and executing account plans which include financial objectives for strategic accounts.

    • Achieving customer satisfaction goals.

    • Creating consulting services opportunities and engaging other Innovative resources to achieve the customers’ goals.

    • Provide data to Product Management regarding product requests for such strategic accounts.



  • Manages the client contract renewal process.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Provides regular feedback to Product Management concerning market trends and product and services ideas.

  • Establishes and maintain a system of regular communication with clients to include phone calls and onsite visits.

  • Creates call/visit reports to document findings and to communicate internally.

  • Ensures knowledge of each client’s solution and how the solution is used by the client.

  • Performs business process reviews on a regular basis with clients to ensure client is receiving value, offer suggestions for improvement and other Innovative products and services that will increase the value to the client.

  • Solicits other Innovative resources as required to address client issues and needs.

  • Monitors client customer support issues and act as a proxy as necessary to facilitate resolution.

  • Ensures clients are aware of Innovative events that would benefit the client.

  • Ensures clients are aware of new product and service offerings.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS


Required


Education, Licenses, and Certifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.


Experience:



  • Minimum 3 years of experience with managing external client relationships.

  • Software or Enterprise Software sales experience.


Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:



  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.


Preferred



  • Library software sales experience is preferred.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR INFORMATION



  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • This position will be responsible for sales into public libraries, academic institutions, and government agencies.

  • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours work may be required.
