The purpose of this position is to provide professional Librarian services including designing, implementing, and maintaining library collections; incorporating best practices and trends in literacy, Library programming, and customer service; resolving customer inquiries and complaints; assisting in budget tracking; participating in special projects and system-wide initiatives; and may provide leadership for staff in the absence of a supervisor.
Responds to customer inquiries and reference needs via telephone, email or in person using exceptional customer service skills; assists patrons, readers advisory, database searching and assisting with set up of digital materials on personal devices; oversees interlibrary loans, ensuring accurate cataloging and material delivery. Researches, selects and maintains library materials; identifies needs to meet the demand for reference, circulation, and/or other collection materials; determines budget availability. As assigned, supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. May provide supervision to library volunteers. Plans, develops, implements and administers library programming and services for designated patron base needs; determines program/service format and resource requirements; implements marketing and outreach efforts; coordinates projects and event logistics; maintains cost effective programming. Maintains and monitors public computer equipment; assists patrons in use of equipment.

Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
