Coordinator of Collection Services
Coordinates, assesses, and plans for the selection and development of the library collection of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Bard library.
Ensures that all formats exist appropriate to meet the teaching and learning needs of students, faculty, staff, and for onsite and distance users, within budget constraints.
Be responsible for overseeing selecting and purchasing of all library materials in all formats. Works closely with other librarians and the college acquisition and processing staff to evaluate, select and purchase or subscribe print and electronic materials and databases for the Library.
Collaborates with faculty to select materials to support all programs and subject areas taught at BCCC. Makes final purchasing decisions and takes the lead on complex billing problems related to acquisitions.
Assists in gathering statistics and analyzing usage of the collection, and provides guidance on budget requests.
Develops and coordinates initiatives and services to support the digitally enhanced learning environment by providing innovative solutions to integrate Library's licensed content and services into existing and future Open Textbooks and Open Educational Recourses (OER). Provides expertise, education and outreach regarding open licensing as well as copyright and fair use.
Develops and delivers group and individual library reference and instruction services with some evening and weekend shifts.
Be able to lift 30 pounds.
Participates in college committee work, professional development activities and serves on the library management team.
Three years of related library experience; experience or knowledge of collection development and services.
Exceptional organizational skills, including ability to prioritize, multi-tasks, and to maintain detailed records and in-depth reports.
Knowledge of Integrated Library System and Learning Management Systems.
Ability to work independently within a given time frame. Experience and knowledge of models and trends in OER, open licensing, copyright, and social media.
Familiar with MS Office.
Some supervisory and leadership experience, preferably with full-time employees.
Teaching and project management experience.
ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library Science
