To coordinate the receipt and delivery (including processing holds and notices) of UT Libraries resources paged from central campus and storage locations.
Coordinate the daily receipt, sorting, and processing of requested library resources from UT Libraries locations including the Library Storage Facility. Receive and unpack incoming materials received from UTL locations. Organize and sort material for distribution to pick up locations. Update item status information in Sierra ILS. Coordinate the daily delivery of requested library resources to UT Libraries pick up locations including the Library Storage Facility. Dispatch library resources to pick up location via self or student courier. Communicate with courier to confirm library resources are delivered at pick up location and appropriate updates are made in Sierra ILS. Process patron notices in Sierra ILS. Ensure daily deliveries are dispatched by close of workday. Supervise student workers. Hire and train student workers. Manage schedules and process payroll. Provide oversight for PCL drive-up remote return (book drop). Empty book drop twice per day. Check-in materials returned materials. Sort and route to UTL locations. Maintain statistics. Manage monthly statistics reporting via Sierra ILS and Excel.
Other related functions as assigned.
High school graduate or GED. Two years of work experience with one year of library experience (academic or public). Experience with an integrated library system. Experience with Library of Congress classification scheme. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated experience following instructions and meeting deadlines. Experience using standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Valid driver's license. Experience operating a motorized vehicle. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience with Sierra Integrated Library System. Experience performing library circulation functions. Experience working in an academic library. Experience working in a fulfillment center or mailroom. Experience with delivery services. Supervisory experience.
May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Lifting and moving Use of a barcode scanner. Exposure to dust. Exposure to fluorescent lights.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS
), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
