This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of specialized planning, programming, and more complex supportive duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Library customers with their information, technology and reader's advisory needs and with locating Library materials through the use of Library information systems, internet and other search methods.
Support Library early literacy initiatives through the development and implementation of programs, events and other methods for early learners and their families.
Serve as liaison to Youth Services to assist in the development of Library initiatives and partnerships. Provide input for early learning collection development.
Provide support for all areas of daily branch operations to include resolving customer inquiries and issues, balancing fees and branch cash funds and collection management and flow.
Work with community groups which can include schools, non-profit organizations, and businesses in order to promote library activities and services.
Coordinate and conduct library tours and community presentations.
Actively participate in the duties necessary to branch operations, including but not limited to: collection maintenance and shelving library materials; serving work shifts in the public service area; leading some branch programming and outreach events; and, maintaining appropriate technological and professional skills through the completion of requisite training.
Assist Library administration by recommending materials for the collection and purging outdated material.
Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials for Library programs.
Maintain up to date knowledge of system priorities and initiatives as well as professional news and trends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
