We have an opening for an undergraduate level graduate within one year the opportunity to engage in practical research to further their educational goals. You will work directly with the Library Services team under close supervision from a Technical Information Department (TID) group leader. You will be responsible for supporting the efforts of collection management.Interactions will be with all levels of administrative and scientific staff at the Laboratory within a framework of standard policies and procedures. Essential Duties - Under close supervision, will participate in various tasks within the assigned area. - Assist with redistribution of print collection, including the shifting of material, searching material information, dispositioning and weeding of resources. - Maintenance of current information catalog resources. Gather and disseminate information updates as necessary. - Support Interlibrary Loan system. - Creating and\/or finding aid or collection description within one discipline. Distribute findings as appropriate amongst library services team. - Updating\/redesigning of library webpage. - Internal outreach support to promulgate the use of library services within various disciplines at the Laboratory. - Evaluation of existing library tools for various library service areas, such as, virtual learning and visualization. Qualifications - Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Library Science or related field. - Experience with website development and\/or design. - Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas while working effectively in a team environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
