This professional library position involves assisting with the leadership and management of staff, programs, and resources of a busy library division; implementing divisional work plans; and organizing public service work. Other duties of the position may include, but are not limited to: developing and maintaining divisional services and library collections; working at public desks assisting library customers; organizing, facilitating, and evaluating library programs, classes, and events; building community partnerships; developing and maintaining public and staff resources such as booklists, website content, and internal training documents; and hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating library staff. The Librarian II understands and performs all aspects of the Division and will act for the Division Head in the Division Head's absence.
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution with relevant coursework and at least three years professional librarian experience in a public library.
