Job Description Under general supervision, the Audio Visual (A \/ V) Assistant provides assistance to customers who use the meeting and events facilities. The primary work will include logistics of set-up and take-down of event spaces, basic audio-visual support for meeting equipment, and assisting customers with meeting room and event reservations. The employee has daily contact with the public, which requires excellent customer service skills and the exercise of tact and diplomacy. Job Responsibilities 1. Provides technical assistance and instruction to customers in the use of meeting room A\/V equipment. 2. Assists customers with room and event reservations and invoicing. 3. Monitors customer needs during events and meetings and resolves problems that arise. 4. Manages meeting and event logistics with set-up, take-down and storage of A\/V equipment and meetingfurniture. 5. Assists as needed with library outreach involving A\/V equipment. 6. Creates digital flyers, signage and other promotional materials for library programs, outreach and generaloperations. 7. Creates monthly event calendars and assists with the preparation of monthly usage reports. 8. Assists with digital marketing duties using social media, website postings and departmental software. 9. Photographs library events, gallery exhibits and department decorations for promotional and archival purposes. 10. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Requirements - 1. Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year\u00a0of post high school education from\u00a0an accredited university or college. 2. Job requires one (1) year of public service work. 3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred. 4. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license. 5. Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to represent the library in a professional manner. 6. Must be able to use a computer and have the ability to use a variety of office software programs such as Excel,Word, Power Point, Publisher, and Outlook. 7 Must be able to work and assist effectively with diverse groups of people, exercising good judgment and diplomacy. 8 Must be able to work with a cheerful attitude in a fast-paced environment. 9 Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements 1. Employee must be able to lift, push and exert up to 25-50 pounds frequently, and 80-100 pounds occasionally. Additional Information 1.
