The Library Specialist serves as a proactive ambassador for the Libraries
and University providing extraordinary customer experiences for the UTA
Community, guests, partners, and colleagues. Arranges, describes, preserves, and provides reference service for the photographic collections in Special Collections as well as for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram clipping files. Serves as liaison to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Interprets and explains to researchers Special Collections policies, fees, and copyright restrictions regarding photograph, graphic, and map duplication. Performs and supervises image scanning to fill researcher requests. May supervise student employees. Maintains correspondence and/or phone contacts with users (publishers, producers, film makers, etc.) to define and clarify terms of the user's contract. Prepares image use licensing permission letters for photographs, graphics, and maps for publication in print, web-based, or film media, and images intended for display in public locations. Works as assigned at the Special Collections service desk, providing reference assistance for all areas of Special Collections; contributes to and participates in giving instruction, presentations, and tours.

Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience.
High School graduation or GED.
Two years related experience.
Computer literate and technologically adept.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Two years of general work experience in a library environment.
Interest in history.
Proficiency in use of scanning equipment and graphic editing software such as Photoshop.
