Under limited supervision, provides professional library assistance to children and youths, from infants up to seventeen (17) years of age, their parents and caregivers, at all levels of complexity on a multitude of subjects. Develops reading lists, conducts training, storytelling and book reading, coordinates and implements age-related programs from alternative sources, provides Internet and computer related training and bibliographic instruction. Selects library material for branches, provides direct assistance to patrons and performs circulation duties as necessary.
Provides customer service for young patrons and their parents/caregivers, including the development and implementation of programs and outreach for children in the community.
Oversees daily operation of Children’s Library.
Provides circulation services including but not limited to: check in/out materials, reserving items, filling holds, searching shelves for overdues/holds, provide reference services, prepare library displays, maintain fiscal responsibility with customers and cash handling, makes copies for patrons, and answer telephones. Provides direct patron assistance via correspondence and tele**** /year
