Job Description:
This position will provide development support using object oriented programming and the integration of APIs; will develop well-structured and documented PHP code to maintain existing sites using the Drupal platform; will work in a team environment to develop new projects approved by the Knowledge Services project team; will research and develop new technologies to enhance the user experience and modern research methodologies.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in programming, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience in technology and operations AND:
18-36 months of experience in web development.
Skills
Experience developing in a Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP infrastructure.
Experience with the development and integration of web APIs.
Ability to learn new skills and technology as needed to support the libraries mission and evolving technology stack.
Certifications
None.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; may be required to lift, bend, stoop and carry; ability to engage in repetitive motions; grasp objects with fingers or hands; communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
Departmental Preferences:
Web development experience in a library environment.
Master of Library Science/Information Science (ALA accredited).
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Drupal (minimum 3 years), including custom module development, key contributed modules and core API.
Expert using web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
Web development experience in a library environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and units in articulating and achieving goals, along with ability to work independently.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment and ability to adjust schedule to meet deadlines and busy periods.
Able to communicate, integrate, and prioritize requirements as well as provide good decision-making skills.
Ability to resolve conflict and be flexible in a dynamic and changing environment.
Experience with Amazon Web Services.
Knowledge of Javascript libraries, such as Node.js and JQuery.
Familiarity with AWS LAMBDA.
Experience with Agile development methodologies, GitHub workflow, and modern development practices.
