Overall Job Objective Supplemental Information This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, faculty position. Qualifications MLS or MLIS degree from an accredited university. Possess superior supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills. Two years of work experience in a library circulation setting and familiar with reference materials. Possess excellent customer service. Ability to assist with Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents. Must be knowledgeable in the latest technology in a highly networkable environment. Must be knowledgeable of computer troubleshooting. Valid Driver's License. Examples of Work Duties to include, but not limited to: Supervise overall daily operation of the circulation and information desk of Learning Commons.Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation services of circulation and information areas.Keep information related to employee matters and library patron records confidential.Act as assigned liaison with academic divisions.Work independently and as a team player with other library staff.Provide services to distance education students.Provide outreach service to local schools and other community groups.Submit interlibrary loans request.Assist circulation staff with evaluation of student workers.Evaluate performance of library coordinator and administrative assistant.Receive complaints or special requests from library users and makes every effort to follow through in response to them.Assist library coordinator with interviews and evaluation of student workers.Assist librarians with orientations and research questions.Assist with book selections and take recommendations for items to purchase.Work with librarians in the management of the collection.Assist with minor computer issues.Collect statistics pertaining to public services.Assist with updating library policies and procedures.Develop and contribute to annual goals/objectives for the libraryProvide general reference service during evening shift.Participate in divisional meetings.Attend professional growth and continuing educational workshops.Required to work one evening shift.
