The Romance Languages Librarian willfulfill liaison duties creatively and strategically in order to enhance studentlearning, faculty research excellence, and emerging scholarly practices withinthe Departments of French and Italian, Spanish and Portuguese (which includesCatalan and Gallego), and the Anderson Language Technology Center. The RomanceLanguages Librarian will be situated in the Librariesu2019 Arts & Humanitiesdepartment, which values critical, reflective, and student-centered teaching,research assistance, and outreach. Significant parts of the responsibilities ofthis tenure-track position are research/creative work and service, in keepingwith the tenure standards of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Boulder. Appointment and Salary: Successful candidateswill be appointed as full-time (12 month), tenure-stream faculty members. Rank will depend upon professionalexperience. Salary will be commensurate with experience and consistent with ARLaverages for similar positions. Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent. Commitment to critical, highly responsive practices in teaching and learning. Understanding of the information needs of researchers studying Romance languages, literatures, and cultures. Commitment to innovative, inclusive, and user-centered library services. Knowledge of scholarly communication issues and trends within higher education, especially in Romance languages disciplines. Reading knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Spanish, French, Italian, or Portuguese. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to contribute effectively and respectfully with colleagues on collaborative projects. Potential for research, scholarly work, and professional service. Desirable Qualifications: Advanced degree in a relevant field (such as Spanish, French, Latin American studies, etc). Experience providing reference and/or instructional services related to Romance languages and/or area studies. Experience in an academic or research library. Experience with grant writing or fundraising. Experience participating in collection development in world languages, in an academic or research library. Experience developing innovative learning opportunities to enhance research and/or teaching. Experience engaging in collaborative projects and programs at the local, regional, national, and/or international level. Strong knowledge and ability in multiple Romance languages (especially Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, or Catalan): fluency in one or more of these languages, and reading knowledge in two or more.
