The Cataloging and Metadata Services Department at the University of North Texas Libraries is seeking to hire a Cataloging and Metadata Associate to join our team.\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E
Responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E
* Cataloging monographs and periodicals, including firm order, standing order, and gift materials\u003Cbr\u003E
* Providing catalog maintenance by running daily heading reports and correcting authority control issues\u003Cbr\u003E
* Creating and reconciling metadata for electronic theses and dissertations\u003Cbr\u003E
* Managing the cataloging for the Juvenile Collection\u003Cbr\u003E
* Managing the cataloging and withdrawing for the Best Sellers Collection\u003Cbr\u003E
* Supporting cataloging and metadata database maintenance projects by reviewing workflows, developing training materials, and assessing projects\u003Cbr\u003E
* Reviewing and correcting the work of student workers\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E

* Extensive knowledge of library principles and policies, and knowledge of specialized area functions and workflows.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Experience in working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Ability to utilize multiple computer applications toward increased productivity in a rapidly changing environment.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Strong leadership skills.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.\u003Cbr\u003E
* Knowledge of safe working procedures and security measures related to work performed.\u003Cbr\u003E
Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E
* Experience in a library Cataloging/Technical Services unit\u003Cbr\u003E
* Experience using the Sierra integrated library system\u003Cbr\u003E
