Required Education:

  Graduate degree in a science discipline or Master's degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited degree program, AND:

At least one year of work experience in a library, academic or customer service setting.

Required Skills:

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Research skills.

Computer skills.

Departmental Preferences:

Advanced degree in any of the following disciplines:  biology, chemistry & biochemistry, computer/data science, geography & environmental sustainability, geology & geophysics, health & exercise science, mathematics, meteorology, microbiology & plant biology, engineering, or physics & astronomy. 

Record of accomplishment working in a team-based environment to achieve goals.

Experience teaching or presenting to students and faculty one-on-one or in classroom settings.

Experience developing online subject guides, tutorials and/or web content for users.

Familiarity with tools and techniques utilized in qualitative and quantitative data/statistical analysis and visual analytics.

Familiarity with research data management and best practices.

Familiarity with maps.

Evidence of and/or interest in participating in professional development and continuing education activities, professional and scholarly associations, and contributing to the professional body of knowledge in work-related areas.

Regular pressure to meet productivity standards; frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods; may be required to lift, bend, stoop and carry; ability to engage in repetitive motions; grasp objects with fingers or hands; and communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
