The purpose of this position is to provide research and reference services to firm lawyers and staff in support of service to firm clients and the firm\u0026rsquo;s business development efforts. This is firmwide, full-time, exempt position which can be resident in our Austin, Dallas or Houston office location.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePerforms specialized legal research for lawyers and clients using a variety of electronic and print resources. Projects may include retrieving court documents; locating contact information for individuals; obtaining legal, business, and medical/scientific literature; authenticating cited sources; finding biographical details on judges and counsel; and tracking litigation.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eConducts in-depth research in a wide range of practice-specific areas of law, business intelligence, public records, legislative history, and news media.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePerforms research on and prepares company and industry profiles in support of business development efforts.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eDelivers basic and advanced library instruction to new lawyers and staff.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eSupports the firm\u0026rsquo;s usage of legal and business databases by securing passwords, coordinating introductory and recurring training, and trouble-shooting technical issues.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eMaintains relationships with lending libraries and document retrieval services. Manages inter-library loans with participating libraries.\u0026nbsp;\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAssists with collection development by evaluating information needs, research requests, available resources, and usage patterns. Provides input on addition of new resources and removal of resources no longer needed.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAssists with collection maintenance duties including the ordering and cataloging of books, routing serials, shelving materials, and, periodically, filing updates and looseleaf materials.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAssists with financial management of the library by reviewing and confirming invoices and allocating expenses to the appropriate accounts.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eOther projects and duties as assigned by direct supervisor and other Library Services Managers.\u003c/li\u003e

\u003cli\u003eSubstantial experience using major legal and business databases/research platforms, including but not limited to Westlaw Edge and Monitor Suite, Lexis Advance, Lex Machina, Intelligize, Securities Mosaic, CourtLink, Newsdesk, Bloomberg Law, Docket Navigator, Questel/Orbit, CCH Cheetah; Accurint, S\u0026amp;P Capital IQ, CourthouseNews Plus, RIA Checkpoint, Reorg Research, and ProView eBooks.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eStrong familiarity with basic legal treatises, particularly where to find them online.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eExperience using the Microsoft Office Suite.\u0026nbsp; Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new applications and research tools quickly.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eKnowledge of the Library of Congress classification scheme.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eSignificant experience using automated library systems.\u0026nbsp; Genie Plus or Sydney Plus experience preferred.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, perform under tight time deadlines, and flexibly adjust to changing priorities.\u003c/li\u003e
