Chemonics seeks an Archivist to join the Global Health Division (GHD) within the Global Health Supply Chain Office (GHSCO) in Arlington, VA. The Global Health Division is currently seeking an archivist to support our business unit. The purpose of archiving is to retain all valuable project records in a logical, coherent system and safe location for easy retrieval. The archivist will establish a complete account of what is contained in our project’s hard files and organize these files in a logical and systematic manner in order to prepare project records for the formal archiving process. The GHD leads Chemonics’ efforts to be a thought leader in global health and increases Chemonics’ contributions to improving the health and well-being of women, children, and the most vulnerable; strengthening health systems and country ownership; and enhancing inclusive leadership in global health and international development. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world!
Conduct a comprehensive audit of project hard copy files
Create a list of existing documents by developing and updating master file index
Sort, classify, index, and record existing documentation
Handle other archiving and project specific tasks, as applicable
Provide live audit support, as needed
Classify and file project documents to prepare for archiving and prompt retrieval, following standard instructions according to Chemonics standard guidance
Create reports and memos outlining the status of documents
Coordinate with the project teams to incorporate miscellaneous unfiled documents into files
Mark and label all project files according to Chemonics’ standard operating procedures
Other regional operations duties as required
Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least one year of administrative experience preferred
Experience with data entry, filing, cataloging, retrieving, and preserving records
Ability to write and verbally communicate clearly and concisely
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook including creating and modifying documents and scheduling appointments for multiple stakeholders
Ability to work both independently and in a team, coordinating with staff as work assignment requires
Demonstrated interest in international development projects
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
