The University of Wisconsin-Madison Interlibrary Loan Department is hiring student assistants.
**All applicants MUST be currently enrolled as a student.**
Students are needed to assist in the day-to-day workflows of the Interlibrary Loan office, located in the basement of Memorial Library. For UW Madison students, faculty, and staff, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) offers free access to materials needed for coursework and scholarly research which are not currently available within the UW-Madison or UW System collections. We also provide book loans and scanning services to other libraries across the globe.
The ideal applicants will be reliable, have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to work independently in a high-volume & fast-paced environment. This position will begin right away, and will continue through the summer (and beyond).
All candidates must be able to work at least 1.5-3 hours (uninterrupted) at least four days a week Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am and 4pm
Duties may include:
- Retrieving books and other items from Memorial Library stacks, Historical Society Library stacks, and/or other campus libraries.
- Scanning articles, book chapters, and other items.
- Receiving and returning ILL books from other libraries.
- Unpacking, sorting, and/or delivering mail items within Memorial Library
- Other duties as needed.
