is accepting applications for an experienced, motivated and dedicated for Library Aide
the 2012 – 2013 school year.
Theodore Roosevelt College & Career Academy is a public school that serves grades 7-12. Theodore Roosevelt College & Career Academy mission is to maximize the potential of each student, creating the urgency to reach proficiency and assuring that students are given the greatest opportunity to learn and perform at high levels through premium-quality teaching and leadership as well as an effective, supportive learning environment.
The Library Aide supports the Theodore Roosevelt College & Career Academy by performing necessary clerical and administrative tasks that enable students to find and use library materials and that enable the Library Specialist to focus on instructional aspects of library program implementation. As a member of the library staff, the Library Aide is responsible for helping to create a positive, welcoming environment where all students can achieve. The Library Aide reports to the Library/Media Specialist.
The candidate will also serve as a Learning Coach to a designated home group of students through regular Coaching for Learning and data led conversations (1 to 1 and group). Act as an advocate for these students during the planning of teaching and learning and providing guidance, support, and encouragement to ensure their success and achievement.
High school diploma required
Experience with clerical tasks such as filing, computerized data entry, etc.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel and reach from floor level to 6 ft. in height (while moving library materials, shelving books, performing inventory, circulating technology items, etc.)
Ability to routinely lift library materials weighing up to 20 pounds (while moving library materials, shelving books, performing inventory, circulating technology items, etc.)
Background or interest in technology or technical support.
Interest in learning and supporting new technologies.
